NATURE WORKSHOPS IN SCHOOLS
If you are interested in Gini coming to teach the children at your local school then please get in touch.
Subjects are topical and linked with the seasons - for example, during the summer term we cover birds and their nests, making a drink from flowers, grasses, compost and insects.
I am a Montessori trained teacher, with a degree in Environmental Conservation, and have spent many years running nursery schools, including one here in the village and working with young children.
I have run gardening workshops at many schools in Hertfordshire and run after school garden clubs with inner city children. I currently run nature workshops in nursery schools and am very keen to encourage children to get outdoors, get muddy, grow food and learn about nature and farming.

"Joseph has loved attending your class, he is so excited every Tuesday morning to go to school as he knows you will be there, he told me you are his favourite teacher. Every week when I pick Joseph up he is so excited to show me what he has made in your nature class. Meeting the baby chicks was definitely his favourite day. Joseph had told me you talked about birds, frogs, caterpillars and have been watching them transform each week. Thank you for all your help"
"When Oliver was at your nature class he loved the nature workshops and still remembers them now (he's 8!)" and "Oliver is still hugely in to nature, he loves finding out what birds are when he sees them, he also enjoys planting and growing and looking at insects in the garden"
"Flynn has loved them, and comes home with the things he has made showing them off with pride" and "he has been pointing out nests in particular, and has been spotting and naming different birds everywhere and he loves being hands on with nature, and has been digging in the garden more than ever, finding bugs, investigating smells, and so on."
Feedback 2024
Both Ava Mia and Maya have absolutely LOVED your Tuesday sessions and have always looked forward to you on a Tue. We love nature like you too, but I noticed the girls confidence and curiosity has grown so much through the term with you and we love to see it. Thank you you are wonderful and hope you'll be back in September!!!
Sidney loves Miss Gini workshop sessions.
In fact they are one of his favourite sessions of the week and at one stage Sid was having a phase of refusing to go to nursery (although he loves it once he’s there- it was a phase) and I would always tell him he might have have Miss Gini’s workshop and he would be much happier (the moaning would stop) and he’d be excited to go to nursery.
Sidney always tells me of his enjoyment at the nature workshops, sharing stories of what he had made, grown, drawn or learnt that day.
His favourite was baking bread rolls and growing strawberries.
Sidney loves nature and the outdoors and I know these session are his favourite.
I find Sidney is much more calm being outdoors and learning about nature. If we’ve spent time outdoors he generally is happier and we have less tantrums. I encourage outdoor play or walks daily.
I notice his attention and focus is greater when he is doing tasks like planting and he is so very proud of the plants he grows.
He often looks at the seeds packets in shops and asks what he can grow at home next.
He has asked for a vegetable patch in our garden and he loves being outdoors.
He also asks to water the garden daily and generally has a lovely interest in the garden, nature and outdoors.
At his new primary school he was very excited to see they also have a gardening patch!
He will miss the nature workshop and Miss Gini very much.
Thank you for helping Sidney grow!
