Fun in the Sun

It was fantastic to have such a big group on Saturday despite the sweltering heat.

The children and adults were fascinated by this creature that they had never seen before. I loved their interpretation of putting straw under the strawberries ! I found little piles of straw all over the raspberry canes at the end of the day ! We also crushed up some egg shells in the hope that it would stop the slugs eating the strawberries. They cooled down by filling up the fountain with rain water and using the hose spray. Meanwhile , despite the heat, the baby Christmas trees are making new cones.
